Wolfgang Kintzel

Wolfgang Kintzel joined Direvo as CEO on April 1, 2017. Before he headed the Life Sciences Venture Capital team at NRW.BANK and in that role was part of Direvo’s supervisory board since August 2015. He is a senior management professional with more than 20 years of experience in various executive positions within pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnological companies. He was directly responsible for business entities up to 200 employees and > 100 Mio EUR revenue in leading global organizations. After the successful exit of amaxa AG in 2008, Wolfgang accompanied the development of several start up´s as board member, advisor and CEO.
Dr. Albrecht Läufer
Senior Advisor
Dr. Läufer joined Direvo in June 2011. In 2002 he cofounded Corvay GmbH, Hannover, and he is Corvay’s CEO since 2008. Corvay advises clients in the biotech and chemical industries. At the same time Dr. Läufer co-founded Vakzine Projekt Management GmbH (VPM) and was VPM’s CEO from 2003 to 2008. During this time he was responsible for preclinical and early clinical development programs for preventive vaccines against malaria, tuberculosis and HCMV, for a therapeutic vaccine against prostate cancer and for a novel Beta-Interferon. Prior to his position at VPM Dr. Läufer was Regional Director in Solvay Pharmaceuticals GmbH and responsible for operations in Canada, Australia/NZ, Middle East (including Turkey) and Asia (including Japan), managing annual sales exceeding €350 million. Dr. Läufer was heading Solvay Enzymes GmbH as the CEO from 1993 to 1996. Previously he held positions with Rütgerswerke AG from 1985 to 1992. He studied biochemistry and chemistry in Tübingen, Basel, Tokyo, and Braunschweig and holds a PhD in chemistry.

40 years of experience in business development for large international chemical and agricultural companies in the US. He was responsible for a major grain processing business in the Midwest and has developed many strong and long-lasting customer relationships. He also headed a specialty soy oil company in Iowa and was able to establish a tight identity preservation process from seed to extracted oil for the food processing industry.
